Dennis J. Hall, FAIA, FCSI
is founder and managing principal of Hall Architects, Inc. in Charlotte,
North Carolina. He has over twenty-five years experience in the fields of
architecture, interior design, and urban design. He is an award winning
architect and construction specifier, with over twenty design and
specification awards to his credit including the Young Architects Award
from the South Atlantic Region of the American Institute of Architects, the William Dietrich Service Medal from the North Carolina Chapter of the AIA, and
five national specification awards, including two Honor Awards from the
Construction Specifications Institute.
As a leader in the construction industry and Mr. Hall has served on
numerous boards, committees, and panels for various professional
organizations including the Associated General Contractors, the American
Institute of Architects, the Construction Specifications Institute, and
the American Arbitration Association. He has lectured at universities,
professional seminars, and conventions in the US and Canada on design and
the project delivery process. He is a frequent speaker at national
meetings for professional and industry organizations including the
National Concrete Masonry Association, American Institute of Architects,
the Construction Specifications Institute, Construction Specifications
Canada, and many other organizations. In 2000 he was elevated to Fellow in
the Construction Specifications Institute for his notable contributions to
the construction industry and the creation of industry standards for the
instruments of services for design professionals.
Mr. Hall is a former national President of Specification Consultants in Independent Practice and currently serves as the President-Elect of the Construction Specifications Institute. He will assure the office of CSI President in July 2010.
